Determining Pad type via Class Id

Interlink abstracts the basic ePad interface using base COM interfaces. This allows generic software to be written without having to be aware of the actual implementation details of the pad. This being said there may be times when software wishes to determine which pad it is connected to. The ClassId used to instantiate the initial COM object can be used for this purpose. There are two ways of doing this:

If the software only wants to present a text name to the end-user, then enumerator's GetProviderDescription method can be used.

If the software wishes to be "aware" of the exact type of pad then it can create a table of known class and library Id's map these to pads:

If the pad you're using isn't listed above you have three ways to discover its class Id:

Obtain updated documentation from Interlink
Use the Interlink-supplied enumtest.exe program to list the Class Id's of installed pad providers
Use the MSFT supplied OLE/COM Object Viewer program against the DLL file
