Generic ePad Access
A primitive Generic set of interfaces have been defined to allow an application to access a device without any prior knowledge of the physical hardware. These API's allow the software to obtain a list of installed devices and access basic positional data from the units.
Note that specific functionality (such as LCD displays) are not included in these interfaces.
Generally speaking, one should access a device using the following steps:
-
Connect up to the IIEPadEnum object and obtain a listing of devices
-
Instantiate the gIIEPad interface of desired device(s)
-
If desired, instantiate any additional interfaces such as gIEDebugGUI or IWedge against the previously instantiated object.
-
Open a connection to the desired device (via gIIEPad's OpenConnection). Note that in order to use multiple devices one must instantiate multiple instances of the service provider.
